Alexander Hogg is an English actor, writer, composer and lyricist. He has trained in screen acting with Academy Award-Winning actress and writer Rachel Shenton at The Midlands Screen Acting School and is currently studying BA (Hons) Musical Theatre (Triple Threat) at The University of Chichester Conservatoire.
Alex made his professional acting debut at the age of eleven in The Wolverhampton Grand Theatre's first in-house production in a mammoth forty years, Brassed Off, playing Craig. This was shortly followed by his appearance in the original cast of Nativity! The Musical as the principal St Bernadette's school child Ollie as well as Child Gordon Shakespeare and the Oakmoor pupil Rupert. The show toured the UK in 2017 followed by a run at London's Eventim Apollo.
The next Summer, Alex joined the cast of Kilworth House Theatre's production of the acclaimed Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. During rehearsals for Joseph, he was appearing in the Amanda Whittington play Ladies' Day, once more, at The Wolverhampton Grand.
Then came Alex's screen acting debut in the festive feature film Nativity Rocks!, the forth film in the hit series by BAFTA and Emmy Award-Winning director and writer Debbie Isitt. This was followed by a return to Nativity! The Musical where he reprised his previous roles of Ollie and Child Gordon Shakespeare on another No.1 UK tour.
Alex then returned to Joseph to join theatrical impresario Bill Kenwright's brand-new touring production for it's stay at The Birmingham Hippodrome. For the festive season, he returned, once again, to Nativity! The Musical in the same roles as the year before.
During the 2020 coronavirus lockdown, Alex filmed on location in Belgium playing a Bullied Boy in a global advertising campaign for AXA Insurance titled #KnowYouCan.
He then featured as a Cricket Umpire in Lidl's 2022 television commercial, Big On British as well as the Big On A British Summer variant the following year.
Alex can also be seen in Kit - a new short film from Academy Award-Winning Slick Films. Kit had it's world premiere at Cleveland International Film Festival on 12 April 2026 and will soon have it's UK debut screening at Brighton Rocks International Film Festival. He will also soon lead the cast of a new impactful short from Bear In Mind Films.
On 24 April 2026, the music video for STORM I & II by influential cloud rap artist Yung Lean - in which Alex plays a bully - was released. The latest instalment in the Gener8ion project, a collaboration between producer Surkin and director Romain Gavras, the video proved an instant success and became a viral sensation - reaching an incredible 13 million views in just one month on YouTube alone.
Alex made his debut as a writer, composer and producer with an original four-part comedy-drama podcast series titled For King and Country. The series had a global release onto all major podcast platforms with new episodes released weekly throughout March 2026. As Alex announced in a live interview, the series received a radio broadcast on Harborough FM in July 2026.
Elsewhere, Alex can be heard as a singer on the Nativity! The Musical Original Cast Recording for Nativity! Theatre Ltd. and Jamie Wilson Productions Ltd. as well as the Nativity Rocks! Original Motion Picture Soundtrack for Mirrorball Films.
